NEIGHBORHOODS
We work very closely with the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations (CONO) and they have representation on our board. Their goals are to meet with representatives of various neighborhood organizations/associations together in a room with service providers and city representatives to tackle issues in our neighborhoods. All grassroots volunteers engage in hard work and dedication in making their neighborhoods the best they can be to improve the quality of life in Decatur. Beautify Decatur helps provide volunteers for clean ups and other beautification projects in the neighborhoods.
SCHOOLS
The roots of beautification and litter prevention start with children. Our goal is to make every school in the community a No Litter Zone which includes regular clean ups of campuses and educational opportunities. While keeping school grounds clean, students learn valuable community leadership and responsibility skills and gain a respect for the environment and world around them.
